Leonard Wren
Artist's Bipgraphy
Like the French Impressionists’
artwork, which serves as his major influence, Leonard Wren believes that
going directly to nature is the only way to capture nature. Born in the
small town of Dearing, Kansas, Wren had little exposure to art as a young
boy. Although he had an appreciation for nature early on, his first
experience with painting involved decorative painting on cars rather than
nature scenes. After graduating from high school, he moved to Tulsa,
Oklahoma where he started his own business as a commercial artist. It was
here that he had his first encounter with the world of professional artists
and recognized where his own passions laid. From that moment on Wren has
dedicated his life to the study of art. Very much the plein air artist,
he paints outside as much as possible. Leonard Wren’s Impressionist
works capture the beauty and vibration of movement of the world we live
in.
