Marlene Dubin

Artist's Biography

Award-winning artist Marlene B. Dubin exhibits in the region’s most prestigious juried competitions. Dubin’s colorful pastels, paintings and collages hang in private collections in Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Selected for “Art of the State” in 2002, her vibrant works have been juried into solo exhibitions and group shows in The State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg; Bryn Mawr College; Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery at Haverford College; the Art Association of Harrisburg; Cheltenham Center for the Arts; Chester County Art Association; Main Line Art Center; Wayne Art Center; William Penn Charter Art Show; Perkins Center for the Arts, NJ and the Riverwalk Arts Festival, York, PA. Her paintings and pastels have been exhibited and sold at Accent Gallery, Ocean City, NJ; Fine Art Liaisons Gallery, Haverford, PA; Laura Melrose Gallery, Frenchtown, NJ; Station Gallery, Greeneville, Delaware; and Third Street Gallery, Philadelphia, PA.

A 1962 cum laude graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Dubin studied with artists Francine Shore, Elizabeth Meyer, Val Rossman, Nury Vicens and Itzhak Sankowsky and at Philadelphia College of Textile & Science (now Philadelphia University) and The Barnes Foundation, Merion, PA, where she also taught and lectured.

A past Board member of COLLAB, design professionals supporting the 20^th Century Design Collection at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she was a Public Relations and Special Events Consultant for corporate, philanthropic and professional organizations; Co-Organizer & Co-Producer of “Creative Kids,” a Philadelphia City-Wide Arts Festival for Children; and an Interior Designer, Facilities Planner and Art Consultant in the health care industry.
