I have been thinking about the
word change a lot lately. I have witnessed many changes
in the art world over the last twenty years. For instance, the Internet
can mean more
business, but it can also be very impersonal. Print making with giclees
is faster but lacks
hands on contact. I understand that change is necessary and unavoidable
but I will never
accept that anything can ever take the place of human contact.
We have always prided ourselves on our customer service. Thank you notes
are hand
written, calls are responded to immediately and everyone is treated with
the attention and
respect they deserve.
I see so many changes in all areas of retail and it makes me so proud of
the standards we
have at the Accent Gallery. Many clients have become family in the past
twenty years. I
have attended weddings, Bar mitzvahs and funerals and watched children
grow into
incredible adults. There is nothing I would ever want to change about my
experiences at
the gallery.
We should accept change when it means a higher ideal or improved
situation. Change
for change sake is simply not enough. We will continue to exhibit
beautiful art and
crafts, offer superb customer service and welcome new friends. We invite
you to
experience a rich tradition. Alphonse Karr wrote, “the more things
change, the more they
stay the same.” That is certainly true at the Accent Gallery.
