Biography

Kate and Ed Coleman live and work in Swannanoa, North Carolina. There studio is located next to their home on "Big Flats" Mountain. and at a 2900 foot elevation, the Coleman's love the Blue Ridge Mountains and are continually inspired by them.

Ed and Kate each started working with clay at the age of fifteen, taking classes at the Indianapolis Art Center. They then realized that creating ceramics would be something they would always do. After receiving Fine Arts Degrees from Ball State University, they opened there first studio in Southwest Florida in 2000. In 2008, they moved t the mountains of North Carolina.

"We like working within the parameters of a series, keeping each piece unique and one-of-a-kind. The process allows our art to continually grow and move in dynamic ways. Our work is a collaboration between two artists -- separate people with ideas that merge.

We believe that life is more beautiful and more livable when surrounded by things made by hand. Our work is created for those who search for this quality in fine craft objects. We share this connection with those who own our work.
