Christine Originals by Christine Rodrigues Schukow
Biography Christine Rodrigues Schukow starts her day early-first caring for her orphaned and injured wildlife she rehabilitates and then in her studio where she now specializes in the design and construction of shadow box dioramas-amazing little creations that seem to capture a moment in time and draw the viewer in, usually with a smile, a touch of nostalgia, humor, or just a pleasant sense of times gone by. A native of Ellenville, New York, Christine has been described as an extremely talented self-made artist who can take an idea and develop to it's fullest potential. Initially displaying talent in silk-screen printing and hand-painting on fabric, Christine later turned her talent to one of her favorite pastimes as a child, the making of 3-dimensional scenes in various sized boxes. Now, together with her husband Ted, who creates the frames for each piece and builds the furniture designs, they have produced a beautifully constructed work of art intended to be enjoyed by others for generations to come. Christine and Ted continue to enjoy their Shawangunk Mountain home as well as traveling to display their work in the finest art shows held through-out the country. Her pieces are in collections worldwide and also available in several prestigious galleries in the U.S. and abroad.
